His actual name is "Sandy" because he was born with fur the color of orange sand... and no stripes. He tells people that to fit in with his friends in the neighborhood, he had to work hard to earn every stripe. Actually what he had to do was to paint the stripes on. He started with his mom's eye-liner and mascara but that washed off every time he went fishing at the river. Now he uses a permanent dry marker pen with good results.
